Vintage 2006
One word comes close to describing the Parsonage 2006 vintage: SPECTACULAR!!!

The 2006’s have the same terrior elements as preceeding vintages. They are big and opulent. The fruit intensity appears to be at a higher point than previous vintages. This may be attributable to the unprecedented July heat wave of 2006. We had about 10 days of temperatures in the 90’s and 100’s culminating in an extreme of 112 degrees. On that day we lost about 5% of our crop. The remaining 95% went on to attain an amazing level of ripeness by mid November.

The 2006 vintage will be bottled in June 2008.




Vintage 2007
This will be our smallest vintage since our very first harvest in 2000. We harvested only 8 tons. This allows a production of about 500 cases.

Drought conditionsin winter and spring and the low production of our two irrigation wells led to an extreme state of stress in the vineyard. We brought in several hundred thousand gallons of water by tanker, but it was too little and too late to attain a reasonably normal yield. The early indication is that this may be our most concentrated and powerful vintage ever, possibly all reserve quality.
